Favourite position

Postby andercheq » Sat Dec 10, 2016 1:52 pm

Simple question: does favourite position percentage affect the performance of a player in a match? For example, if a player has 40% seeker 60% chaser, and it plays chaser, will he play worse than a player with 100% chaser playing as a chaser? (both players with same skills).

I'm pretty sure it does not affect performance if they have 60% Chaser and are playing chaser.

Mood and proficiency lower performance if they're not at 100%.
For favorite position, it's binary. Either they're playing their favorite position (so no penalty), or they are not playing their favorite position (so, penalty).

There's a thread on this in the Tips and Tricks all about this, it's a bit of a read, but to sum it up:

[100-{(100-m)/4}]*[100-{(100-p)/4}]*f

when

m=mood
p=proficiency
f=favourite position (if they are playing their FP, then f=1, if not in FP, f=.75)

You guys got it right. Favorite position is either true or false, so it's either 100 or 75% performance.

So in theory, i can talk any player into changing its favourite position, to the point that they are 1 talk away from changing, and leave it like that for as long as i want, without the performance of the player being affected right? This enables to have a player ready to change, but with the possibility to do it whenever you want. Once you decide to change it, you cant change him again immediately, you have to repeat the process. (I might have not been completely clear with my idea, let me know if it is the case)

That's certainly possible, but be aware that there is a random component to how much they progress with each talk.
