Marketing

Postby Cygnus » Fri Dec 26, 2014 5:52 pm

Hey guys, a new season is rolling out and I wondered about how to get the attention of new people to join the game.

I can think of:
posting on reddit
posting on browser game forums
keep facebook and Twitter updated
do more livestreams

Any other ideas?

I believe there are also forums dedicated to sports management simulations. Could post there. I'll try and find some when I get home from Christmas.

I don't have numbers but I think losing. I played in Sapling my first season and I started day 4... Oak 6 only has 1 team in it when I checked day 1

Where did current forum members find out about this game? Knowing that might help marketing decisions.

Personally, I came here from Reddit (I think /r/FootballManagerGames) but I don't think many of the Reddit posts have gained much traction, even on /r/Quidditch or /r/HarryPotter. Whatever caused the massive amount of sign-ups across S19-S20 should be considered too, since the game is far more engaging when others at your level are also active - even if not on the forums.

I also came from Reddit, saw a post on the Harry Potter subreddit.

I was looking for a sport manager game, thought that quidditch one might be fun and googled it, didn't expect to find one though. Pleasant surprise :)
