Skill Spread

Postby Speedy » Mon Jul 27, 2015 11:13 pm

Is it better to have a pair of similar Beaters who are each good, or to have one great and one okay Beater? (Or one great Chaser and two average ones...or one great Seeker and 6 average players?)

i.e. Two, each at 75 avg. or one at 60 avg. and one at 90 avg.? (With each pair being exactly equal when combined)

In other words...is it better to spread skills across players or to purchase one or two legends and a bunch of filler players?

Spread. Definitely spread.
Ew why was my signature so cheesy?

Really, song lyrics? Yeesh, I haven't left all of my cringiness behind. I promise, it's mostly gone now.

I should have at least quoted a less dramatic song.

I ask because the Mifflins beaters (Read + Mazzoleni) are about as good (as a pair) as the Dursleys beaters (Beattie and Walton), despite Walton being the best player in the game. The Mifflins pair are much closer than the Dursleys pair.
It seems as though the Dursleys pair work slightly better, but Beattie doesn't even have 99 ACC (which I've always considered essential for the upper-tier Beaters). Is Walton carrying them, or is it just RNGsus?

Interesting, I had not thought about it like that before. I'll take a look and have a think and come back to the thread with my thoughts.

Mazzoleni is to me the best beater out of the four due to Ale and Bal being better than Walton. Shows in this season stats being slightly better. With the number of games played it's unlikely to be RNG affected much. The combined %s are almost exactly the same for both pairs so I don't think their really is a difference. I would have the Mifflin's pair though because as I said before Mazzoleni is I think the best and they are very slightly younger on average so Read being the youngest of the four should improve that little bit to take the pair above Walton and Beattie.

In the higher leagues, I'd say even spread is definitely what you want to go for.

Down in Oak or Iron, one 80+ chaser will carry your entire team.

I wish I had known that earlier. I've always tried desperately to spread and I hate it when teams have an average range of like 30. Ex: 42, 55, 67, 50, 80, 51, 62
