Beating a better team?

Postby meek » Fri Oct 14, 2016 5:32 am

So recently I started up a new team and find that I will have to play much better teams than my own.

I was just wondering then, what is your best strategy to beat a better team than your own, with preparation being the fastest it can be?

I choose either defensive or attacking.

I always go attacking in this case. Gives you a chance to fluke an early lead and snitch.

Try different strategies and see the ones who suit it best against your opponents, different opponents may need different strategies

The "usual" approach is:

1. Contain if you're slightly weaker.

2. Defensive if you're quite a bit weaker.

3. If you're so weak that you are 99% certain that you'll lose, might as well go Attacking and try and get a fluke win.

Of course, there is a lot of nuance to this, depending on the specific attributes of players on both teams.

Also, for a quick boost, I would go for a better Keeper and/or Seeker, as they are positions where a single player can make a difference. Combined with the right strategy and a quick snitch appearance, they might be able to help with the aforementioned fluke wins.

Just beat the Victory with a fluke using Attacking.

It works people!

Hey, thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I've taken them on board and am waiting till I find a team to fluke a win against!

Here's a question for you, though; Lets say Team A has a Seeker with an average of 2, and a Keeper with an average of 1. They are playing Team B who has a Seeker with an average of 1, but a Keeper with an average of 3.

What would be the best gameplay stragey for Team A?

Hard to say with the info you gave, as Chasers are the most important part of strategy in my opinion, followed by keeper.
But since basically team B has a way better Keeper, I would go Attacking.

What should you do if your team is slightly better and you want to ensure victory? Control? Or just stick with Balanced?
