The 10 clubs
Clubs are listed from the strongest to the weakest at the start of a new career. A club's rating decides its squad quality, budget and gate, and it moves as the seasons pass, so the order changes as clubs win trophies.

The Portuguese League was split off from the old Iberian League, which no longer exists. A career begun before the split keeps the history of its clubs: when such a career moves to the current league list, titles and wins earned in the Iberian League still count towards cup qualification.
League format
The Portuguese League is a single division with 10 clubs: every club meets every other club twice, once at home and once away, and the top six then play off for the title. That gives every club 18 league matches, played over 18 matchdays in weeks 8 to 30 of the 52-week season. The league takes a break of 5 weeks at the halfway point.
After the regular season the top six clubs play a three-week playoff: the 3rd and 6th placed clubs and the 4th and 5th placed clubs meet in the play-ins, the two winners join the top two clubs in the semi-finals (the 1st seed against the lower-seeded play-in winner, the 2nd seed against the other), and the winners meet in the final. The playoff winner is the league champion, not the club that finished top of the regular season.
The table is sorted by wins first, then point difference, then points scored, then Snitches caught. There is no promotion or relegation: every club stays in its league and plays the same competition each season.
Cups and international places
League results decide who goes to the big tournaments. From the Portuguese League the game sends 1 place in the 16-club European Cup and 1 place in the 32-club Champions League.
Berths go to the clubs with the best record in the last three campaigns: first by titles won (every title counts equally, whichever season it was won in), then by combined league wins, then by how recently the club won a title. The Champions League looks at the last five campaigns the same way, and 6 of its 32 places are wildcards for the latest Champions League winner and the latest winners of the European Cup and the continental cups. In this league the champion for qualification is the playoff winner. Read the full rules on the competitions page.
Youth and talent
The league's annual youth intake comes from Alcázar de los Vientos. Graduates are aged 16 to 18 and take their nationality from the academy league; Alcázar de los Vientos is shared with the Spanish League, whose clubs compete for the same graduates. The first intake opens in the second season of a career. The beginner's guide explains how to sign graduates, transfers and contracts.
